What happens
Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar is called in when actress Amy Bradshaw receives a threatening note promising her "sudden death." The note arrives just before a performance of her play The Unguarded Hour, and Amy reports that she was nearly pushed into traffic on the street afterward. Though Amy dismisses the threats as silly, Johnny suspects the danger may be more real than she wants to admit, and questions whether someone close to her might be behind the threats.
New York City: the Criterion Theatre on West 44th Street, Amy's dressing room, and a quiet bar near the theater.
Characters: Johnny Dollar, Amy Bradshaw, David Coleman, Mike Pomeroy, Georgie, Sheila Mitchell, Poor McCain
Listen for: The mysterious threatening note, the incident in traffic on 44th Street, and Johnny's suspicion that the threat comes from someone in Amy's inner circle rather than a random crank.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
