Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar is called to the exclusive resort islands of Lake Huron to investigate the murder of Alfred Chambers, a man found shot through the chest in a rented cabin. Chambers' estranged wife arrived from Pittsburgh to find him dead, but the circumstances of his death remain unclear—he was shot on the island but found with mud and water on his clothes, suggesting he may have been in the lake.

The Snow Islands, an exclusive resort community on Lake Huron near the Canadian border, and the mainland police station.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
