What happens

Jack Benny spends a long afternoon at Paramount trying to settle where the premiere of his new picture with Fred Allen will be held, with Mary Livingstone at his side. Mark Sandrich, the director, keeps him waiting while other visitors are shown in ahead of him, and Jack grows increasingly frustrated. Rochester, meanwhile, runs into parking trouble outside. The Jell-O program of November 17, 1940 on NBC and CBS features Benny with Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris, Eddie Anderson and Dennis Day. The episode follows Benny's repeated attempts to reach the studio's executives, and the waiting itself becomes the story.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
