What happens
Jack Benny fears he is about to lose his job with his sponsor, Jell-O. On a visit to Mather Field, he and his cast mates Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris, Dennis Day, Rochester and Don Wilson joke and perform before the men stationed there. Jack drives with Rochester to the sponsor's office on Hollywood Boulevard, where he waits anxiously to hear what Mr. Mortimer wants to discuss. The broadcast is part of the Jack Benny series, first aired on May 10, 1942 on NBC and CBS Radio, with Benny and Mary Livingstone among the leads.

Listen for: Jack's worry about being fired, and Mr. Mortimer's news in his office
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
