What happens
Jack Benny and his cast perform from the Santa Ana Air Base in California. Benny recounts the drive down from Hollywood in his old Maxwell, and the friends argue over splitting the gas money, with Mary Livingstone and Phil Harris joining in. Dennis Day sings a song dedicated to the bombardiers, and Benny explains what a bombardier does. Mary reads a letter from a navigator admirer, and Rochester becomes flustered over a visitor who thinks he is a Japanese man. The program ends with a salute to George M. Cohan and a mock preview of how Fred Allen might mock the show, with Benny imitating Allen. The broadcast is sponsored by Jell-O.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
