What happens
Jack Benny returns to Hollywood after flying back from Washington, D.C., where he was master of ceremonies at the White House photographers ball, and he boasts about the important people he met there. His friends Mary Livingstone and Dennis Day tease him about his stories, and Phil Harris and his band are introduced. Jack then announces a sketch parodying the radio mystery series The Whistler, and the cast begins performing it, with Jack, Mary and Dennis taking the leading roles. The episode is a 1950 broadcast of The Jack Benny Program, which aired on NBC and CBS Radio on February 26, 1950, with Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris among the cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
