What happens

Jack Benny is visited by two agents from the Office of the Collector of Internal Revenue, Joseph Collins and Herbert Thompson, who question his tax return. They find it hard to believe he spent only $17 on entertainment in a year when he earned so much, and they focus on a single item: a $3.90 dinner at the Macombo with Ronald Coleman and his wife. Benny's cast and friends, including Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris, are involved in the day's events. The Macombo outing is recalled in detail as the agents visit the Colemans next door to ask about it. This is part two of the episode, and the story continues beyond this point.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
