What happens
Jack Benny returns home to Beverly Hills after a trip to New York, where he has been making his television show, and he has a few things to report to Rochester and Dennis Day. A call from the Collector of Internal Revenue then arrives, and two tax agents, Joseph Collins and Herbert Thompson, arrive to question Jack about his 1950 income tax return. They note that he claimed only $17 in entertainment expenses despite earning $375,000, and they press him to recall more deductions. The story is part one of a two-part episode and continues the tax inquiry. The Jack Benny series aired on NBC and later CBS Radio; the episode is dated April 8, 1951, and stars Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
