What happens

Jack Benny hosts a Halloween masquerade party at his Beverly Hills home, with his valet Rochester and guests Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris, Dennis Day and Don Wilson. Benny, dressed as Romeo, fusses over the decorations and his costume while Rochester struggles with the chores. Guests arrive in odd outfits, and Mary grows suspicious when Dennis's mother offers to prepare the dinner. The party is part of the Jell-O program, broadcast on October 29, 1939, on NBC and CBS Radio.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
