What happens

Jack Benny stages a comic version of the film Stanley and Livingston on his Jell-O program of October 22, 1939. Benny plays a newspaper reporter sent by his editor to find the missing explorer Dr. Livingston, with Mary Livingstone as his secretary and Dennis Day as his native guide. The cast trades jokes between scenes, including a mix-up over a gold cigarette case that Kay Kyser claims. The broadcast is a comedy sketch with Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris, Eddie Anderson and Dennis Day, and this part follows the expedition's search through the African jungle and its encounters with cannibals and wildlife.

A radio studio in Hollywood, and then the African jungle in the comic play

Characters: Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris, Don Wilson, Dennis Day, Mrs. Day, Kay Kyser, Rochester

Listen for: The long running gag about how short Jack Benny smokes his cigars, and the search for Dr. Livingston through the jungle

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
