What happens

Jack Benny has just finished breakfast on New Year's Day when he tries out a new electric dishwasher, which malfunctions and tangles the household in odd trouble. His friend Bob Crosby drops by with a worry about a tongue-twisting phrase he keeps mispronouncing, and Don Wilson calls to cancel the trip to the Rose Bowl game. Benny, Rochester and Mary Livingstone are all trying to plan the day around the game, and his new girlfriend Iris is part of the plans. The story is a comedy of mishaps across the morning and afternoon. This is an episode of the Jack Benny radio program, broadcast on NBC and CBS Radio, starring Jack Benny with Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
