What happens

Jack Benny and his cast perform a Christmas broadcast from the Veterans Administration Hospital in Long Beach, California, during the 1952 season. Jack sets up a Christmas tree for the patients while his valet Rochester, who wants a day off to go to the racetrack, struggles with the decorations. Mary Livingstone arrives late, Bob Crosby sings a song, and Dennis Day and Don Wilson trade jokes with Jack. The show is part of the Jack Benny series, which airs on NBC and CBS Radio, with Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris among its lead actors.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
