What happens
Jack Benny and Mary Livingstone do their Christmas shopping at a department store in mid-December. Jack is hunting for a gift for Don Wilson, and he settles on a gopher trap for Don's ranch home. Along the way he goes back and forth between the gopher traps that kill outright and the kind that catch the animals alive, and the clerks and shoppers he meets complicate every choice. The episode is from the Jack Benny Program, first broadcast on 1952-12-14 on NBC and CBS Radio, and it stars Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
