What happens

Jack Benny hosts a comedy hour with Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris, Don Wilson and Kenny Baker, along with Andy Devine. The program opens with banter about Jack's prematurely gray hair and a Rudyard Kipling line he has altered. Kenny complains that his girlfriend keeps making him fudge without nuts and wants to play post office instead, so the cast demonstrates the kissing game for him. Andy then offers to buy Jack's old Maxwell, and the two haggle over the price. Later Jack's show-within-a-show, a football spoof called The Big Game, is announced, with Jack playing both the coach and the star quarterback. The episode was broadcast on December 5, 1937 on NBC and CBS Radio.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
