What happens

Jack Benny and Rochester spend the week searching the woods around Hillcrest Country Club for a golf ball Jack lost on the seventh hole. Their hunt is interrupted by a stray dog, a filling-station stop, and a talkative fan, and Jack finally heads back to Hollywood. At NBC, Mary Livingstone reads letters from her family, and Phil Harris's band, which Jack complains about, rehearses for the show. Jack Benny's comedy program aired on NBC and CBS radio, and the broadcast starred Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris. The story is told in the first part of the episode.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
