What happens

Jack Benny hosts his comedy program on the NBC network, and the show's regulars struggle to liven things up. Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris bicker over who is the real comedian, and they call a talent agent for new acts. Several eccentric performers arrive at the studio, including a self-described juggler and a singer. The program then turns to a melodramatic Mexican border sketch, in which a father guards his daughter Rose from suitors, and Rose is courted by a hopeful young man. The episode first aired on December 2, 1934.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
