What happens

Jack Benny hosts a 1934 episode of his radio show, which opens with banter about infant photographs and baby Leroy. The cast then performs a comic playlet, Mrs. Wiggs of the Onion Patch, in which Mary Livingstone plays Mrs. Wiggs, a widowed mother of six struggling to feed her family as Thanksgiving approaches. Jack Benny takes the role of a wealthy neighbor who offers help, while Mrs. Wiggs is pressed for three dollars owed on her house. Eddie Anderson, Phil Harris and Frank Parker join the cast. The episode closes with guest Mitzi Green performing impressions and a song.

A radio studio broadcast on NBC, with comic scenes set in a rural onion patch home and a neighbor's house.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
