What happens
Jack Benny is in Boston, and his regular announcer Don Wilson is absent, so Pat Weaver fills in for the week. Benny and Weaver chat about the city's history, and Benny offers Weaver advice about how to mention the Jell-O product. Benny's friends Mary Livingstone and Kenny Baker arrive, and the group discovers that Johnny Green has been planning a party aboard a yacht. Benny and his companions struggle to get there, and the story turns toward a patriotic party marking the Boston Tea Party. The series is Jack Benny, the original air date is April 26, 1936, and the lead actors are Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris.
Boston, Massachusetts, on a Sunday evening during a radio broadcast, then the waterfront and a yacht party
Characters: Jack Benny, Pat Weaver, Mary Livingstone, Kenny Baker, Johnny Green, Don Wilson
Listen for: Benny's repeated struggle to get everyone to the party by car and then by rowboat, and the Boston Tea Party joke near the end
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
