What happens

Jack Benny and his cast are on a broadcast from Palm Springs, California, where many Hollywood stars have come to get away. Benny, Don Wilson, Mary Livingstone, Bob Crosby and Dennis Day trade jokes about the resort, their lodgings and the prices there. Benny's aside about a bathing suit and a clumsy mix-up with a motel name lead into a series of phone calls, including one to his butler Rochester back in Beverly Hills. Dennis Day sings a song, and the cast plans a horseback steak ride that goes wrong when the group has no matches for the fire. The program is the Jack Benny show, first heard on NBC and CBS Radio on February 8, 1953.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
