What happens
Jack Benny is house-hunting in Palm Springs with the help of real estate man Mr. Fulton, whose asking price keeps falling as Jack refuses every offer. Meanwhile, Jack, Mary Livingstone and Phil Harris bicker on the air about golf and the show's guest plans. The broadcast then turns to a mystery sketch in which Jack plays Captain Benny of the Palm Springs police, called to the Lone Palm hotel after Missy LaRue reports that her husband has been murdered. The episode is part of the Jack Benny series, first aired on March 3, 1946, on NBC and CBS Radio, with Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris in the lead.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
