What happens

Jack Benny hosts his radio show, and his guest Ray Milland is unhappy with the billing. Jack and Ray decide to perform a parody of Milland's Oscar-winning film The Lost Weekend, playing twin brothers. Their elder brother Phillip, played by Phil Harris, tries to get them to give up drinking and take a weekend trip to the country. Mary Livingstone and Rochester also take part in the program. The broadcast is a comedy sketch from the Jack Benny series, first aired on March 10, 1946, on NBC and CBS Radio.

Characters: Jack Benny, Ray Milland, Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris, Rochester, Don Wilson, Larry Stevens

Listen for: Jack and Ray arguing over who plays the lead role, and the parody of the film's drinking scenes.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
