What happens

Jack Benny and his cast discuss his performance as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde on last week's program, with Don Wilson, Mary Livingstone, Dennis Day and Phil Harris all weighing in. Benny is annoyed that Wilson compared him unfavorably to Spencer Tracy, and the cast trade jokes about Christmas gifts and each other's acting. Wilson then presents a sequel play, Mr. Hyde and Dr. Jekyll, in which Homer Hyde comes home late and serves his family a dessert made with Jell-O. Midway through the broadcast, a news bulletin interrupts the program to report the bombing of Honolulu and Japan's reply to American peace terms. The show then returns to its lighthearted routines.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
