What happens
Jack Benny stages a radio version of Robert Louis Stevenson's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, with Jack playing the dual role of the kindly doctor and his violent alter ego. Before the play, the cast trades jokes at the studio: Jack and Mary Livingstone swap Christmas gag gifts, Dennis Day pitches a photograph, and Phil Harris describes selling fish on street corners. In the drama, Dr. Jekyll's secretary and his patient Otis Fingerwave set up the strange situation, while Dr. Jekyll takes a powder that transforms him. The transcript ends partway through the story, before the central events of the play unfold.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
