What happens
Jack Benny broadcasts his Lucky Strike program from St. Joseph, Missouri, a town he says he is proud to visit. Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris, Eddie Anderson and Don Wilson join him as the cast jokes about the trip, the local sights and the town's warm welcome. Mayor Welch arrives to make Benny an honorary president of the Chamber of Commerce, and Jane Wyman, a St. Joseph native, is introduced as a guest. The show, first broadcast on February 18, 1945, mixes running gags about Benny's arrival by cattle train, his suit and Hollywood romances with patriotic appeals from the announcer.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
