What happens
Jack Benny celebrates his birthday on his radio program, broadcast from the Glenview Naval Air Station in Illinois, with Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson as Rochester, Phil Harris, Larry Stevens and Don Wilson. Jack jokes about his age, and the others tease him about his birthday arithmetic. A visiting doctor arrives to examine him, and a planned birthday party is announced. Jack and Rochester then trade messages about Rochester's trip to St. Joseph. The episode ends with a comic sketch in which Jack plays a ship's captain whose crew is interrupted by Dick Powell.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
