What happens
Jack Benny performs a stage act at the Fox Theater in Detroit, where Mary Livingstone joins him, then both rush to the Jell-O broadcast. Backstage, Kenny Baker receives a Mother's Day check from his mother, and Mary phones her own mother in Los Angeles. Later, Jack takes a salesman's offer to test drive a car around the block, and the drive ends with an accident and a trip to a hospital. The episode is part of the Jack Benny series, originally aired on May 10, 1936, on NBC and CBS Radio, with Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris among the leads.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
