What happens

Jack Benny hosts the last Chevrolet broadcast of the season, which is also Mary Livingstone's birthday. The show opens with car sales news and Benny's usual patter about the week's headlines, then turns to a birthday celebration in which Mary receives gifts, cards and a mock-serious account of her early years. Benny's staff and guests, including Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris, join the festivities, and a party breaks out with a string of celebrity impersonations and visitors. The program closes with a Chevrolet commercial and goodbyes until the autumn season. It first aired on NBC and CBS Radio in 1933.

A radio studio during the Chevrolet program's final broadcast of the spring season, with a birthday party that becomes an all-star gathering.

Listen for: Benny's jokes about Mary's age, the mock tale of her childhood, and the all-star party that breaks out as the program goes on.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
