What happens

Jack Benny receives a summons for jury duty and is annoyed by the disruption to his busy schedule. Meanwhile his telephone stops working, and a repairman arrives at the house to look at it. Rochester helps with the household, and Don Wilson comes by to discuss a commercial. Benny visits the neighbours to use their telephone, and later reports to the courthouse. At the courthouse a clerk asks him routine questions about his age, height and occupation, and he is taken to be interviewed by a judge. The transcript ends partway through this scene.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
