What happens
Jack Benny gathers his musicians and staff after a weekly rehearsal at the CBS Radio Studios, where small squabbles over jokes, haircuts and a broken coin machine pile up. Benny then tries to enjoy a quiet night at home, but his television set suddenly goes dead, and he must rely on his radio for a wrestling match. Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris appear in the cast, and the episode follows Jack's frustration with the failing set as he tries to find a program to watch.
CBS Radio Studios and Jack Benny's home in Los Angeles
Characters: Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson, Phil Harris, Don Wilson, Dennis Day, Mel Blanc
Listen for: Jack's growing irritation as his television set fails during the wrestling match, and Rochester's attempts to repair it
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
