What happens
Jack Benny returns to New York after almost a year in Hollywood, greeted by his cast, Mary Livingstone, Kenny Baker and Johnny Green, along with a crowd and some reporters. A letter from a listener in Regina, Saskatchewan asks for a play about the Canadian Northwest, so Mary writes one on the spot, called Sergeant Benny of the Northwest Mounted. The sketch follows the Mounties in a frozen northern outpost as they hunt a thief who has stolen furs from a trapper. The program is part of the Jell-O series, first broadcast on February 9, 1936, on NBC and CBS Radio, with a contest and a Jell-O recipe along the way.

Characters: Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Don Wilson, Kenny Baker, Johnny Green, Eddie Anderson, Phil Harris, Benny Rubin
Listen for: Jack Benny's on-air jokes about returning from Hollywood, and the improvised Northwest Mounted play that Mary writes and the cast performs.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
