What happens

Jack Benny prepares for a Sunday rehearsal while waiting for his guest star, Fred Allen, who is late. Benny's valet Rochester, bandleader Phil Harris, Mary Livingstone and Dennis Day all wait with him, and the cast jokes about Allen's recent fall from fortune. Benny recalls how he first met Allen years earlier in Boston, when Allen came to his dressing room in vaudeville days with a plan for a radio show. The episode is a comedy of routines and banter, aired on NBC and CBS Radio on January 15, 1950, with Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris in the leading roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
