What happens

Jack Benny is delayed in New York, so Herbert Marshall takes over as guest host of the Jell-O program. Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris, Dennis Day and Don Wilson welcome him, and the cast is eager to meet the film star. Phil Harris performs his new song about Southern food, and Dennis Day sings a Spanish-language number. The cast then stages a comic version of the film The Letter, with Marshall in the role he played on screen. The episode aired on February 2, 1941, on NBC and CBS Radio.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
