What happens

Jack Benny and his cast rehearse for their radio program, with Benny teasing Dennis Day and Rochester over lateness and misstatements. Rochester mentions plans for the evening, and Benny reads a newspaper review of a picture. Later, Benny meets Tyrone Power and Mary Livingstone in London, where he struggles to exchange money at a hotel and loses track of the exchange rate. The three travel on to Paris, where they visit a nightclub with an acquaintance named Michelle, and Benny argues about champagne prices and currency exchange.

A radio studio rehearsal, then London and Paris, in the late 1940s.

Characters: Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Rochester, Dennis Day, Phil Harris, Don Wilson, Bill, Tyrone Power

Listen for: Benny's money-exchange dispute at the London hotel and the champagne argument at the Paris nightclub.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
