What happens
Jack Benny's on-air persona clashes with his announcer Don Wilson, who refuses to introduce him as a great concert violinist after a television duet with Isaac Stern. Mary Livingstone scolds Don into compliance, and the program moves on to a comic sketch. Phil Harris, Rochester and Dennis Day weigh in on Benny's musicianship, and Dennis Day demands payment before he will sing. Jack Benny and Jimmy Stewart then play out a parody of the film Bend of the River, in which a covered wagon heads for Oregon in 1867, and the travellers meet Indians and a miner offering gold for food. The Lucky Strike broadcast of April 27, 1952 is also heard. The sketch's ending is not given here. Starring Jack Benny with Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris.
A radio studio during a Lucky Strike broadcast, then a parody western sketch set on a covered wagon trail in 1867 heading for Oregon.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
