What happens
Jack Benny goes over household bills with Mary Livingstone at his Beverly Hills home, discovering costly damage that Rochester caused during a party. Jack then learns from his sponsor's telegram that he must find a new singer, and he decides to interview Frank Sinatra that evening. Phil Harris and Herman, the insurance salesman, drop in and complicate matters. Jack tries to reach Sinatra by telephone in New York, and the call proceeds through Mary and then Jack. This is the Jack Benny program, broadcast on NBC and CBS Radio in 1944, and it features Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
