What happens
Jack Benny returns home to Beverly Hills after three months away, and his household is glad to see him. Rochester handles the house and a milkman's overdue bill, while Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris and Don Wilson welcome him back. Benny learns he has a new sponsor, George W. Hill, and that he must find a replacement singer now that Dennis Day has gone into the Navy. Benny visits Hill's office, where he is nervous and clashes with rival comedian Fred Allen. The transcript ends before the meeting with Hill has concluded.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
