What happens

Bob Crosby and his wife June plan a dinner party at their home and invite Jack Benny, who is busy and hard to pin down. Meanwhile Dennis Day asks Jack for ten dollars to get tattooed, and Rochester returns from the market with odd purchases after playing the market. Jack later reads aloud from a book of poems, starting with The Shooting of Dan McGrew, and the story turns into a comic Yukon adventure in which Jack plays a gold prospector. The Jack Benny program aired on NBC and CBS Radio on January 24, 1954, with Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris in the cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
