What happens
Jack Benny arrives in San Francisco for a broadcast of his program, and his co-star Mary Livingstone and others are on hand to greet him. Jack is cheerfully jealous of the city's attention, and the banter turns to his odd trips around town, a mysterious letter-writer from the post office, and his friends Dennis Day and Rochester Anderson. The show is hosted by Don Wilson and features a visit from guest star Jane Wyman, who discusses her Academy Award nomination for The Yearling. Jack Benny's program aired on NBC in 1947, with Phil Harris and Eddie Anderson among the regular cast. The comedy moves quickly from one gag to the next, with many jokes aimed at the local scene.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
