What happens
Jack Benny opens his new season on the air, and the program follows the cast as they gather for the first broadcast after a summer break. Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris, Kenny Baker and Don Wilson arrive at the studio, trading jokes and catching up on their vacations. Benny banters with Harris about the band's new lineup and an unpaid debt from a former musician, while Kenny Baker shows off postcards from his trip to London. The show is the season opener of the Jell-O program, broadcast on NBC and CBS Radio in October 1938, with Benny, Livingstone, Harris and Baker as the lead actors.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
