What happens
Jack Benny opens his Jell-O program on Easter Sunday by describing the Easter parade with Don Wilson, teasing Phil Harris and Mary Livingstone about their clothes, and talking about Mary's new admirer, Wendell Kendall. Phil and Jack then bicker over who is the real star of the picture. The cast later rehearses a comic version of the film Four Girls in White, with Kenny Baker, Don Wilson and Phil Harris cast as nurses, and Dr. Dishnuk runs a lecture for his student nurses. This is an episode of the Jack Benny radio series, first broadcast on April 9, 1939, on NBC and CBS Radio.
A radio studio during the Jell-O program, with the cast gossiping about Easter Sunday in Hollywood and then performing a sketch set in a city hospital.
Characters: Jack Benny, Don Wilson, Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris, Kenny Baker, Eddie Anderson, Wendell Kendall
Listen for: Jack's exchange with Don about the Easter parade, the bickering over who is the star, and the nurses' lecture where the student nurses answer questions.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
