What happens

Jack Benny and his cast spend a Sunday Easter broadcast trading jokes about new clothes, squeaky shoes and holiday outfits. Mary Livingstone recites an Easter poem, Kenny Baker sings a serenade, and Phil Harris and the band pick at Jack's plans for the program. Jack then announces a surprise: he has passes for the circus, and the group sets off to see it. Benny's wit, Eddie Anderson's Rochester and the rest of the regular cast fill the show. The series was broadcast on NBC and CBS Radio, and this episode aired on April 17, 1938.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
