What happens

Jack Benny and his cast perform a comedy parody of Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on the Jell-O program. The episode aired on April 24, 1938, on NBC and CBS Radio, with Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris in the lead roles. Before the play, Jack and the cast discuss daylight saving time, and Kenny Baker sings a song from the film. In the musical version, the dwarfs are retitled as gangsters, and Mary Livingstone plays Snow White, a young woman who flees her cruel stepmother and wanders into a hideout on Long Island. The gang is planning a bank robbery, and the story continues into the meeting between Snow White and the criminals.

A radio studio in Hollywood, and within the play, an isolated farmhouse on Long Island and a city home on Park Avenue.

Characters: Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson, Phil Harris, Kenny Baker, Doc, Snow White, Prince Charming

Listen for: The mock-serious gangster versions of the Seven Dwarfs and the running gags about daylight saving time and the rain in California.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
