What happens

Jack Benny opens the program by discussing his new Beverly Hills home with Don Wilson, who learns of termite trouble, an extravagant architect named Carlton Burgess, and a swimming pool containing a lighthouse. Mary Livingstone and Phil Harris join in with their own tales, and a mix-up over a passing carpenter's house adds to the confusion. The cast then turns to a comic version of the film A Yank at Oxford, with Benny casting himself as the athlete Speedy Benny. Kenny Baker sings, and the play follows Speedy as he leaves Joaquin, Illinois, for Oxford, saying goodbye to his sweetheart Maureen and crossing the Atlantic by rowboat. The Jell-O program is broadcast on NBC and CBS Radio, with Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris in the lead roles, dated April 10, 1938.

A radio broadcast in Hollywood, followed by a comic play set in Joaquin, Illinois, on the Atlantic Ocean, and in England.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
