His valet Rochester, his girlfriend Mary Livingston and friends including Phil Harris and Don Wilson offer opinions, bets and jokes, while Jack frets over the field. Phone calls, visitors and a rehearsal for the radio show keep interrupting him. The Jack Benny program, an NBC and CBS radio comedy, is led by Jack Benny with Mary Livingston, Phil Harris and Eddie Anderson. The episode is set in 1945 and the transcript here covers only its first portion.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
