What happens

Jack Benny celebrates the 25th anniversary of his announcer Don Wilson's career in radio, which also marks Wilson's 16th year on Benny's program. Benny, Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris, Dennis Day and Frank Sinatra gather in the studio to honor Wilson with gifts, a cake and a song. Benny also receives a phone call from Rochester about a legal summons over a yacht purchase. The broadcast then turns to a playful biography of Wilson, following his early struggles to find work in radio. This Jack Benny episode aired on October 30, 1949, on NBC and CBS Radio, starring Jack Benny alongside Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
