What happens

Jack Benny broadcasts from Detroit, where the cast is performing at the Fox Theatre. Jack and Don Wilson joke about the shortage of new cars and Don's boast that he carries weight in town, while Mary Livingstone describes a date with an engineer. Dennis Day complains about his hotel room and his train trip with Phil Harris, and Mr. Kitzel drops in to talk about his car and the stage show. Jack argues with Phil over the act and over the theater's billing, and the sportsmen quartet has an unexpected political announcement. The episode is part of the Jack Benny series, first broadcast on June 13, 1948.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
