What happens
Jack Benny hosts his program, which opens with a spring-themed exchange with Mary Livingstone and Kenny Baker about winter underwear and a pressed carnation Kenny gives him. Listener mail then asks Benny to swap time slots with Fred Allen, so Benny and the cast stage a short parody of Allen's Town Hall Tonight. The sketch mixes fake news reports, a Charlie Chan spoof, and an amateur contest with a talking bird and eccentric contestants. The episode is a 1936 broadcast of The Jack Benny Program, sponsored by Jell-O, with Johnny Green's orchestra and Phil Harris also taking part.

Listen for: The listener letter asking Benny to swap time slots with Fred Allen, and the amateur contest near the end.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
