What happens
Jack Benny is woken at four in the morning by a phone call from a disc jockey named Hank, who asks a trivia question and hangs up when Jack objects. Annoyed and unable to get back to sleep, Jack decides to take an early morning walk. Along the way he meets the street cleaner Mac, who is picking up a sleeping Frank Remley, and he encounters Bob Crosby and his band heading out hunting before sunrise. The story is told in the classic Jack Benny Program style, with Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson as Rochester, and Phil Harris among the regulars who appear. The episode aired on November 1, 1953.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
