What happens
On National Save Your Fat Week, Jack Benny and Don Wilson mark twenty years of working together. Dennis Day arrives with a telegram, then reports that his elopement is off. He has decided to marry the twin sister instead. Tony Curtis appears at the studio, objecting to Jack's plan to perform a sketch parodying his film All American. The sketch that follows casts Jack in the lead, and Tony's objections come to a head as the scene runs on.
A radio studio during a live broadcast of The Jack Benny Program, with a comedy sketch parodying the film All American.
Characters: Jack Benny, Don Wilson, Dennis Day, Tony Curtis, Bob Crosby, Rochester
Listen for: Dennis Day's telegram about his elopement, and Tony Curtis's objections to Jack playing his film role.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
