What happens

Paladin abandons a thankless job in Nevada and encounters a desperate woman and her baby dying of typhoid fever in a remote wagon. Together they must defy the town's violent opposition to venture into the desert and attempt to save the sick family.

Nevada desert and a small town, 1875

Characters: Paladin, Cleo, The Woman in the Wagon, Her Baby, Dr. Phyllis Zachary, Jeremiah Mulroney, Mr. Davis, Mr. Tiford

Listen for: A baby's cry across the desert stillness; the townspeople's fearful ultimatum; Paladin's growing respect for Dr. Zachary's determination despite community prejudice.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
